Elmwood Park Zoo Birds of Paradise Exhibit

Norristown, PA

The exhibit suffered extensive damage from a heavy snow which caused the steel mesh roof to collapse on the Birds of Paradise exhibit. The birds (sun conures and canary-winged parakeets) were unharmed as they were kept in a separate building as the exhibit was closed for the winter.

The restoration project featured a new indoor holding area, allowing space for new species, as well as a new façade, featuring a living wall.
