The Philadelphia Building MEP Upgrades

This project consisted of upgrades to the historic Philadelphia Building systems which included existing heating, ventilation, air-conditioning systems throughout the third through eighteenth floors. Work also included removal of existing equipment and support systems, installation of new shafts and associated walls, new rooftop dunnage and HVAC equipment, and new VRF systems on tenant floors.

In 2021, MBC completed upgrades to the existing electrical systems in the sub-cellar, cellar, and floors 1 through 18. The scope of this project included providing temporary power/lighting throughout the renovations; the removal of all existing devices and wiring not being reused; installation of new branch and control wiring where required; the addition of new switchgears, transformers, and bus duct drivers; the installation of new panel boards and their associated feeders/circuit breakers; and the installation of a new 250 KW Emergency Generator on the 3rd floor.
