The Philadelphia Zoo - Flamingo Habitat Renovation
Philadelphia, PA
Founded in 1859 as America‘s first zoo, this delegated design project consists of the renovations to the free-flight aviary near the McNeil Avian Center to create an interactive flamingo habitat. The new habitat will include a larger wading pool and nesting area for the flamingos, as well as a variety of other birds.
It will also provide guests with dynamic feeding experience and teach them about the importance of the habitat and the Zoo’s role in the Flamingo Species Survival Plan (SSP). The SSP is a program that aims to create a healthy assurance population of flamingos through breeding.
