Proud to Announce MBC is the GC for Avenue North SW Apartments in Wilmington, Delaware!
NEW PROJECT!! McDonald Building Company is grateful to be part of the team bringing the Avenue North SW Apartments to life in Wilmington, Delaware. Developed by Delle Donne & Associates and designed in collaboration with AEI-AE, this project will deliver a 272,000+ square foot, seven-story apartment complex built as a 5-over-2 construction type. Located within the Avenue North community near the I-95 corridor, this mixed-use development will feature modern apartment homes and amenity spaces that support continued growth in the area.

Our team has begun mobilization onsite as early work and sit work coordination get underway. We appreciate the collaboration of our partners, field teams, and project leadership as we move into the initial phases of construction and work toward an anticipated completion in May 2027. We have some BIG NEWS over here at the MBC News Desk! We are excited to celebrate our very own Jeff Graef on his promotion to Project Executive! Jeff has undoubtedly been a steady force of calm on every project serving as one of our Senior Project Managers for the last 5+ years. His new role will support our projects on a broader operational and financial level to further strengthen alignment and efficiency across our teams.

Golden-Hour Flyby Friday at Philadelphia Zoo!
Nothing hits quite like a golden-hour Flyby Friday, and Batman the Drone delivered...again. Over at Philadelphia Zoo, Carey Bear Country is taking shape piece by piece as work continues across Penguin Point. Structural walls are rising, new elevations are being defined, and site coordination remains steady as crews gear up for the next construction phase. All of this supports the larger $20M renovation that will create expanded, enrichment-focused habitats for the Zoo’s Andean and sloth bears to roam, climb, and explore.

What a turnout! This past Saturday, our MBC crew showed up big for the National Brain Tumor Society Race for Hope – Greater Philadelphia, coming together to support our teammate and friend Matt Coleman and the “Ring the Bell for Matt” team. More than $23,000 raised, the third-highest total of the event, and the largest team out there by FAR…proof that when community shows up, it shows up strong. This upcoming Saturday October 11th, many of us at MBC will be lacing up and joining the "Ring the Bell for Matt" team for the Race for Hope Greater Philadelphia - walking, running, and cheering alongside our General Superintendent, colleague, and friend, Matt Coleman. Thanks to incredible generosity from sooooooo many, Team Coleman crushed their $5,000 goal and raised FOUR TIMES THAT to topple over a whopping $20,000! BOOM! A testament to how many lives Matt has touched, it's now our turn to support him. Every dollar raised is a step closer to hope, research, and cures through the National Brain Tumor Society. This race is about more than fundraising - it’s about community, courage, and proving that no one fights alone. We’ll be there to Ring the Bell for Matt.

Senior Care Living at MBC - three different projects one shared purpose
Senior living and care is not a one-size-fits-all type of build. Some projects are about affordability. Others are about legacy. But all are about lifestyle for new residents. They seem to always revolve around the one thing that we call the MBC difference – dignity in every single detail. MBC is currently building three standout projects that will serve our senior community.
NewCourtland’s Clearfield Apartments in Philly gives MBC the opportunity to deliver 48 affordable units designed for accessibility and independence. Wider corridors. Shared gathering spaces. Layouts that actually work and accommodate those who live there. Dignity is built in detail by detail. Over in Bryn Mawr, the renovations at Beaumont at Bryn Mawr are well underway. To keep disruptions at a minimum, we installed the ICRA Shield Walls (shout out to Shield Wall by Abatement Technologies) - keeping progress separate from residents’ daily life. One small way to honor comfort and trust. And finally, over in Lafayette Hill, at The Hill at Whitemarsh Hawk Ridge Villa, we are building the last two new custom multi-unit residential buildings. MBC’s Danielle Terpoilli, our resident interior designer, has worked with MDP Design to make sure every customized finish was intentional and every choice was thoughtful. These touches make these villas feel not just well-built but personalized for the new residents.
