MBC’s Frank Cardone shines in the recent EAS spotlight promoting his artisan work!
FRANKLY, this deserves the spotlight. Frank Cardone is part of the MBC team working at Walnut Park Plaza, where he brings experience, creativity, and skilled craftsmanship to the job every day. But Frank’s work does not stop at the jobsite. Frank transforms scrap wood and discarded materials into original pieces of art, seeing possibilities in materials others might overlook through his art, "The Wooder Department." The Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters recently sat down with Frank to share more about his creative process and the craftsmanship behind his work. We are incredibly proud to have Frank on the MBC team and excited to help amplify the work he is creating beyond Walnut Park Plaza.
Thank you to EAS Carpenters for giving Frank and his talent the spotlight they deserve! #buildingontrust #walnutparkplaza #mbcpeople #skilledtrades #phillyartist #wooderdepartment #unioncarpenters #craftsmanship #woodworking
Give The Wooder Department a follow on Instagram and explore Frank’s work on Etsy.

Winning Golf with the Carpenters’ Company is always a good time!
History in the making! Winning Golf TV teed up its first visit to Manufacturers’ Golf & Country Club with a group representing the 300-year-old Carpenters’ Company. Hosting the action were MBC’s own Paul McDonald, Anthony Naccarato of O’Donnell & Naccarato, and Howard Lebold of MAI Design. 🤝
There were seven rounds of short-game skills challenges, one tricky 18th green, and a Winning Golf Championship Trophy up for grabs. No mulligans and definitely no spoilers.
You’ll have to tune in to see who came out on top. If you missed Sunday night’s opening round, you’re still in luck to catch this batch of lucky golfers...
Monday, September 21 at 8:00pm on NBCSP+
Thursday, September 24 at 10:30pm on NBC Sports Philadelphia

MLB Legacy and Phillies Charities honor Tree House Books during All-Stars Week this summer
MBC is helping bring the next chapter of Tree House Books to life in North Philadelphia, combining two existing row homes into one expanded library and literacy center with more room for books, programs, young readers, and the community Tree House has served for nearly two decades.
Earlier this summer, the project stepped into the big leagues as part of Major League Baseball and Phillies Charities’ All-Star Legacy efforts, including the new Literacy Clubhouse area honoring Ryan and Krystle Howard. If you were watching along this summer at the stadium or at home (Go Phils!) and thought you spotted a few familiar MBC hard hats...well, you did!
Seeing our work get some major league screen time is certainly a fun bonus, but we’re even happier to be the team on the ground building it.
Huge thanks to Tree House Books, Ryan and Krystle Howard, MLB, Phillies Charities, and the entire project team for all the collaboration along the way. #buildingontrust #treehousebooks #philliescharities #mlbtogether #allstarlegacy

National Intern Day at MBC spotlights two fantastic team members!
This National Intern Day, we're celebrating two incredible members of the MBC team - Lola McKerns, a rising junior at Temple University studying architecture, and Ryan Herrmann, a Drexel University co-op majoring in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Economics. While their paths to MBC looked a little different, they share the same curiosity, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn about the commercial construction business. From contributing to meaningful projects across Philadelphia to learning alongside our project teams, they've embraced every opportunity to grow.

RING THE BELL FOR MATT! MBC celebrates huge milestone for our colleague and friend, Matt Coleman
Every project starts with a milestone. This week, so did a new chapter.
At McDonald Building Company, our project bell is traditionally rung to celebrate the award of a new project and the beginning of what’s ahead…This week, we were honored to ring it for something even more meaningful.
Surrounded by his family and work family, Matt Coleman rang the bell to celebrate the completion of chemotherapy and the beginning of his next chapter.
Over the past 15 months, we’ve watched Matt face every obstacle with extraordinary strength, resilience, and perspective. Through surgeries, treatments, and countless challenges, he’s reminded us that courage isn’t found in one defining moment. It’s built one day, one step, and one milestone at a time.
In Matt’s own words, “Milestones matter.”
We couldn’t agree more.
While no one would choose the road Matt has traveled, we are incredibly grateful to celebrate this moment alongside him. Ringing our project bell wasn’t just about recognizing everything he’s overcome. It was also about looking ahead with hope and honoring what comes next.
Matt, thank you for reminding all of us to slow down, celebrate the wins along the way, and appreciate the people who stand beside us. Congratulations, Matt!
We’re proud to stand beside you as you begin this next chapter. #teammbc #buildingontrust #mbccares #braintumorawareness

MBC goes Gray in May in a very MBC way!
MBC Went Gray in May. Throughout May, our team wore gray in support of Brain Tumor Awareness Month and our colleague, Matt Coleman.
Over the past year, we’ve watched Matt navigate an unimaginable journey with strength, grace, and perspective. While awareness campaigns often last a month, the realities of a diagnosis extend far beyond a single calendar page. For us at MBC, going gray was a small way to show support, raise awareness, and remind Matt and his family that they are not walking this road alone.
Along the way, Matt has taught all of us something, too. Through every update, treatment, and milestone, he has reminded us of the power of taking life one step at a time and focusing on what matters most. The support shown throughout May was a reflection of what makes the MBC team special. We celebrate wins together, face challenges together, and show up for one another when it matters most.
Thank you to everyone who participated throughout the month and helped bring awareness to an important cause. Matt, thank you for the perspective you’ve shared with all of us. We’re proud to stand beside you, one step at a time. #mbccares #buildingontrust #braintumorawarenessmonth #gograyinmay #teammbc

MBC Proud! Power Her Tools event with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Delaware
Earlier this month, Kelly Giuliani (McGettigan) and Iliana Limon were invited to represent MBC as panelists at the Power Her Tools event with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Delaware.

MBC celebrates 16 GOLDEN years! Happy Birthday, MBC!
Cheers to 16 incredible years! This one marks a fun milestone for MBC as we celebrate our 16th anniversary on March 16th…making it our GOLDEN birthday! Over the past sixteen years, we’ve had the privilege of working alongside amazing clients, trade partners, architects, engineers, and industry collaborators to bring projects to life across our communities. From senior living, mixed use multi-family and affordable housing to life sciences, healthcare, commercial, industrial, and workplace environments, every project reflects the dedication of the people behind the work. Milestones like this remind us that the foundation of MBC has always been focused on our people and partnerships.
