MDSA celebrates West Labs completion at 3.0 University Place

Excited to share the completion of the West Labs at 3.0 University Place in Philadelphia’s University City district. This marks another successful project delivered through the MDSA Strategic Alliance (McDonald Building Company and Dale Corporation). The project included the construction of approximately 20,000 SF of combination lab and office suites on the third floor of one of the region’s premier life sciences and office buildings. The goal was to create flexible, move-in-ready workspace that could support a range of tenants across life sciences, technology, and professional services. These suites feature modern finishes, adaptable workspaces, and collaborative areas designed to help tenants move in quickly while tailoring the space to their needs.

Located within one of Philadelphia’s most active innovation corridors, 3.0 University Place stands out as a LEED and WELL Platinum-certified life sciences building - one of the first of its kind in the United States. The project helps provide high-quality workspace for companies looking to establish or expand their presence in University City. The Hill at Whitemarsh - Finishing Interior Touches

Back in October, Batman, the Drone, took to the skies for a Flyby Friday, highlighting the exterior in Whitemarsh. This time, we’re stepping inside to mark project closeout. With this 27,000 SF residential addition now complete, the finished interior spaces reflect the level of care carried through every phase of the build. From custom millwork and finish selections to clean transitions and final detailing, each residence was completed with comfort, respect, and everyday living in mind.

Nothing hits quite like a golden-hour Flyby Friday, and Batman the Drone delivered...again. Over at Philadelphia Zoo, Carey Bear Country is taking shape piece by piece as work continues across Penguin Point. Structural walls are rising, new elevations are being defined, and site coordination remains steady as crews gear up for the next construction phase. All of this supports the larger $20M renovation that will create expanded, enrichment-focused habitats for the Zoo’s Andean and sloth bears to roam, climb, and explore.

Senior Care Living at MBC - three different projects one shared purpose

Senior living and care is not a one-size-fits-all type of build. Some projects are about affordability. Others are about legacy. But all are about lifestyle for new residents. They seem to always revolve around the one thing that we call the MBC difference – dignity in every single detail. MBC is currently building three standout projects that will serve our senior community.

NewCourtland’s Clearfield Apartments in Philly gives MBC the opportunity to deliver 48 affordable units designed for accessibility and independence. Wider corridors. Shared gathering spaces. Layouts that actually work and accommodate those who live there. Dignity is built in detail by detail. Over in Bryn Mawr, the renovations at Beaumont at Bryn Mawr are well underway. To keep disruptions at a minimum, we installed the ICRA Shield Walls (shout out to Shield Wall by Abatement Technologies) - keeping progress separate from residents’ daily life. One small way to honor comfort and trust. And finally, over in Lafayette Hill, at The Hill at Whitemarsh Hawk Ridge Villa, we are building the last two new custom multi-unit residential buildings. MBC’s Danielle Terpoilli, our resident interior designer, has worked with MDP Design to make sure every customized finish was intentional and every choice was thoughtful. These touches make these villas feel not just well-built but personalized for the new residents.

Flyby Friday - Final Look from above at Collingswood Department of Public Works Facility

For this Flyby Friday, our height-loving drone, Batman made their way over to Collingswood, New Jersey to take a peek at the final view of Collingswood’s BRAND NEW Department of Public Works Facility. The 22,000-square-foot space is now fully operational and built to support the Borough’s essential and expanded public works team with function and flexibility in mind. The two-story building features 12,248 square-foot climate-controlled offices and administrative space alongside five giant bay garages that allow seamless vehicle access and storage. The facility is also equipped with locker rooms, meeting areas, restrooms, and dedicated high-value storage all thoughtfully designed to meet the day-to-day needs of the municipal employees to better serve the Collingswood community. Annnnddd just to the north there’s a separate detached single story parking garage housing the big dog equipment like Bobcat attachments and snow blowers (we might need those sooner than you think!). Built with the future in mind the facility includes infrastructure for EV charging and is ready for future solar panel installation, reducing the costs and environmental impact over time – WOOT!

Their wedding was absolutely beautiful - full of love, laughter, and packed with the McDonald family.
