MBC's Friday Lunch Tradition with a well-deserved Local Restaurant Shout Out
Lunch is here! 🤩😋🤩 One our the many sweet treats at McDonald Building Company is a Friday lunch reward generously provided to our hardworking office staff. MBC has proudly supported many local restaurants for the past year and a half from all over the Norristown/Conshohocken/Greater Philadelphia area. 🙌💪🙌 What started as a means to keep folks safe and happily fed during the pandemic and a desire to support our local restaurants, quickly turned into a well-loved Friday tradition for the office. It’s hard to pick our favorites, but these restaurants deserve a lot of love and praise for overcoming everything thrown their way. Subs for Subs! MBC celebrates Sub Appreciation Day at the Jobsites
This October, MBC celebrated our subcontractor trade partners with our 1st annual Subcontractor Appreciation Month. 👷🏽👷♀️MBC visited the field sites each Wednesday throughout the month delivering sub lunches 🌯 (we know, we know…it’s a hoagie, but just go along with it for the namesake) to our awesome trade partners, all 250+ of them! Subcontractor Appreciation Month is our way to say THANK YOU to our dedicated working crews, we are grateful for all of your hard work each and every day. 🙌🏼🙌🏼 Jobsites included Rowan Judson Diamond, Woodlawn Storage Facility, Kinder Park IV, and last but not least, in conjunction with McDonald Dale Strategic Alliance (MDSA), we closed the month with 3.0 University Place. This couldn’t have been possible without the help of G&M Deli of Sewell, NJ and Jim’s Steaks in Philly. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 No matter how you slice it, there aren’t enough ways to thank every single subcontractor for all the work they put into building buildings. MBC had an absolute hoot as one of the presenting sponsors at Beast of a Feast last night hosted by the Elmwood Park Zoo! 🤩🦉🤩 There was plenty of food to go around and lots of grrreat activities to do at the Zoo. Winning Golf! Come one, come all! McDonald Building Company had the honor of hosting Winning Golf TV at Hartefeld National Golf Course alongside Winning Golf’s superb host - Doug Hendricks. 🏌️♀️⛳️🏌️ Doug spent the day sharing with our team some awesome tips and tricks that were a real hole in one. McDonald Building Company was honored to attend the Peg’s Place Grand Opening on Monday morning. 🙌👷🙌 Featured on our Flyby Friday a few weeks ago, this 4-story 33,000+ square foot building provides 40 NEW affordable residential apartments to empower adults to break the cycle of chronic homelessness and addiction. MBC is proud to be part of another incredible Project HOME build. 🤝 We couldn’t have done this without the incredible team down at Peg’s Place, but we have to give huge kudos to our superintendent and the GOAT himself, Ed Swank! 🤩💪🤩 Ed was there rain or shine and brought his A game every single day. There was no problem too big or too small for him. MBC Goes to the Phillies Game for a Good Cause
Take us out to the ballgame! ⚾️🙌⚾️ McDonald Building Company had a great time this past Saturday at the Phillies vs. Pirates game in honor of Suicide Prevention Night at Citizens Bank Park. The weather was absolutely perfect, our seats were fun filled, jam-packed with action (holy foul ball, Batman!), and the crab fries were a nonstop staple in our section. Over 40 of our MBC family attended and no doubt everyone enjoyed the game, especially as the Phillies are in the running for playoffs! 🤩🏆🤩 And juuuuussssst to cover our bases, we should probably attend again next year… #mbccares#phillies#mlb#ringthebell#threestrikes#wereoutofcrabfries

Flyby Friday heads over to Rowan Judson Diamond in Northern Philadelphia
It’s Fri-yay over here at McDonald Building Company because it’s Flyby Friday!! 🤩🙌🤩 Today we’re flying our nameless drone (come on, people we need help with some names here!) over at Rowan Judson Diamond in North Philadelphia. 📸🚁📸 Our team has been working hard finishing up the renovations and upgrades of these 40 residential units and common areas for Project HOME’s latest development. Set to complete in October, these phased rehab units were meticulously coordinated to minimize the day-to-day impact on residents. Project HOME provides housing and supportive care to those who are in the process of breaking the cycle of chronic homelessness and addiction…we are proud to be their building partner in this development. What a way to celebrate the Dog Days of Summer at MBC
MBC had one pawsome summer this year by celebrating our newest Friday fun activity…the Dog Days of Summer! 🐾🌞🐾 Each Friday our office staff brought their own furry friend to the Main Office. We put these pooches to work and it was ruff to wait the whole week for our Friday treat! These pups brought a tail waggin’ good time to the MBC Office Staff - it was truly happiness unleashed. Each doggo also got to wear the MBC Mascot of the Day bandana making their mamas and paw-paws very proud! The pictures turned out pretty doggone cute. Many treats and praises came their way and only a few run-ins with our glass window walls occurred…(no injuries, we promise!). 🐶😅🐶 Thank you MBC Team and our furry friends for the ultimutt best Fridays at the office. Look who just got their Certificate of Occupancy - The Apartments at New Market West! 🥳🤩🥳 This multi-phased complex in West Philadelphia has been a work in progress since 2018 and we are happy to celebrate the completion of such a successful project and long-standing partnership with Mission First Housing Group. A huge shout out is in order for New Market West’s project team - Project Superintendent - Sam Cellucci, Project Engineer - Kelly McGettigan, and Field Coordinator - Isaac Johnson. 🙌🙌🙌 This trio has gone above and beyond to make the magic happen at New Market West from start to finish. Our New Market West team faced several schedule challenges and always tackled them head on. They collectively pushed this project through to completion with ease and precision and all the while, remained on budget despite material increases. We are so proud to consider these three the “Dream Team”! Timelapse Tuesday heads over to Kinder Park IV in Woodlyn, PA
It’s Tuesday and you know what that means….Timelapse Tuesday! 🙌 This week we’re heading over to Delaware County to take a peek at Kinder Park Phase IV. The two floors of steel framing are complete as we move onto building up the wood framing on the 2nd and 3rd floors next. 🏗 The progress at the site so far has been tremendous (and on schedule). This 4th and final phase of Kinder Park will become a 6-story residential retirement community providing an additional 96 places to call home for seniors. Projected to finish up in Spring of 2022, we are eager to keep you posted on how this great build turns out! This 4-story energy-efficient building will provide affordable residential apartments to empower adults to break the cycle of chronic homelessness and addiction. McDonald Building Company was honored to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for the Trinity Health PACE Program project at Kinder Park in Woodlyn, PA today. This 15,000 square foot medical fit-out will finish about a floor and a half from our current work on the Kinder Park Phase IV project. Trinity PACE (Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) offers seniors the support they need to live in their own home or with family as independently as possible. MBC would like to congratulate Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, Mercy LIFE and Delaware County Housing Authority (DCHA) on this partnership and tremendous accomplishment. MBC attends Virtual Cooking Class with Miss Allie's Kitchen for MBC/MAK Taco Night
Last night the MBC crew gathered over Zoom for a fabulous cooking class hosted by the one and only Allie Doran from Miss Allie’s Kitchen! 🤩 She walked us through making some delicious spicy margaritas and ground venison tacos all from scratch. 🌮🌶🍹 This tasty recipe was easy to make and a real crowd pleaser. The team thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it! Maguire Residences project in Kensington is honored by Preservation Alliance as Grand Jury Winner
We are getting close to wrapping up the renovations this summer at Ancillae Assumpta Academy’s Handmaid Innovation Center in Wyncote, PA. This complex “over-build” of the original Academy building includes an innovation lab, three science lab & prep spaces, a digital production studio, six new resource learning instructional areas, and patio space to further enhance the Academy’s outdoor classroom facilities. Final touches are being completed next week and brick pavers are almost complete!
