All this talk about the weekend makes us think it’s about time for a Flyby Friday! Batman the Drone flew on over to Conshohocken to visit our 400 West Elm jobsite. Things may look a little different since you last saw the impressive 13-story luxury apartment complex – you’ll notice all the exterior wall panels are COMPLETE! Interior drywall finishes on the lower floors have officially started on the 348 units, making this beautiful build one step closer to completion this fall. Three stormwater basins in the back are complete, and we’re prepping for paving. What does SQP mean to MBC? Specified Technologies, Inc. - STI Firestop (STI) visited our 400 W. Elm jobsite in Conshohocken to provide invaluable firestopping training and certification. Firestop systems are highly dependent on proper design and installation for success in the event of an actual fire. The importance of these sorts of trainings for all the trades cannot be understated to ensure that firestopping systems are installed correctly in the field. Thank you to our subs who attended from Wolf Fire Protection, PDM, EMMS Electric and most importantly, THANK YOU, Jared Stewart and STI for hosting. Safety, Quality, and Production in practice at the jobsite – that’s a sight we LOVE to see!

The lobby now boasts new curtain wall openings and fresh lounge tile while the cinema room is moving along with the Kvadrat acoustic panels installed. Novum Structures mobilized this week for the exterior glass canopy that will be a modern welcoming feature for guests as they arrive for check-in. Steel, glorious steel! The 400 West Elm jobsite over in West Conshohocken reached a momentous milestone today with their Steel Topping Off Ceremony. 🏗🙌🏗 The final beam was placed atop the structure this morning with the city of Conshy and Schuylkill River Waterfront providing a perfect backdrop for this celebratory occasion. Nothing can quite top that! 👷♀️😅👷♂️Just about 2,200 tons of steel was fabricated for the steel structure. While there is more work to come for this 348-unit luxury apartment complex - today, we celebrated the hard work that led up to this point. McDonald Building Company would like to thank and congratulate our irreplaceable partners at Equus Capital Partners, Ltd. and JDAVIS Architects on this achievement. 🤝🥂🤝

Crane Day at the Philadelphia Building for Roof Top Unit Replacements!
Things are looking UP at 1315 Walnut Street’s Philadelphia Building with a crane onsite for the past two weekends. 🏗🙌🏗 Out with the old and in with the new! Steel was craned and set to prep for the replacement of the exterior mechanical units last weekend. To finish July out strong, the early bird really did get the worm...a 5am street closure meant the crane was assembled and ready to roll by 6:45am. A total of 24 roof top units were set in just 2.75 hours. 💪😳💪 We're big on efficiency at MBC, but it's always S-Q-P for us - Safety, then Quality, then Production. All in all when the job is complete, MBC will have replaced just about 100 units (interior/exterior) for all 19 floors. We love Crane Day @ MBC! 👷♂️😍👷♀️

We are packing our bags and heading down to Alexandria, Virginia to feature another exciting renovation we're building. 🧳🤩🧳 Hotel AKA Alexandria is turning a former Holiday Inn in Old Town and giving it a major update. Not far from DC, this 28,800 square foot renovation will include luxury amenities such as a new lobby, lounge, bar, meeting spaces, and a fitness center for guests to enjoy. MBC is making noticeable progress on the exterior so far, thanks to M&N Masonry Staining and their brick staining work to modernize the brick façade. 🧱😍🧱 While the project is expected to complete this winter, there are still more updates to come.
