The exterior metal panels are mostly complete and the first four floors are beginning flooring installs and paint finishes. Cabinets arrive next week along with appliances and spring will soon be upon us to complete the finishing touches. 📢 Shout out to The Gillespie Group, Inc. who recently completed pouring the underlayment gypsum concrete with top quality precision, it was a pleasure to partner with you. 🤝 St. Barts Apartments will soon add 48 one-bedroom apartments to offer for seniors along with convenient covered parking and supportive space. Batman Makes His Way Over to 400 West Elm for Another FlyBy Friday

Batman 🦇 was back up in the skies on this beautiful fall Friday at the 400 West Elm jobsite in Conshohocken, PA. 🏗 A boatload of activities are happening onsite as the front facade nears completion on the north side of the building; this should be complete in 1-2 more weeks. Paving is planned to begin next week at the south side parking garage and the landscaping touches are beginning...talk about curb appeal! But that's not all...amenity spaces are wrapping up - the pool, the speakeasy lounge, golf simulator, and courtyard just to name a few. So far, temporary Certificates of Occupancy have been issued for the amenity spaces & 4th floor as renters prep for move 12/1...just in time for the holiday season.

Progress Continues at AtlantiCare Mainland Hospital Campus with the Successful Removal of MRI Scanner

MBC recently tackled the challenging operation of coordinating the removal of a 10 ton MRI scanner at the AtlantiCare Mainland Hospital Campus in Pomona, NJ. About a week after mobilizing onsite, it was “removal day” and the crane lifted a suspended platform as the MRI was meticulously “pushed” out of the 2nd floor of the hospital...pretty cool! This was tricky coordination as the crane operator needed to adjust for the weight difference as the magnet was loaded. We will continue to prep the space with plans of coordinating the install of the new MRI equipment when it arrives. Last week, McDonald Building Company proudly checked another momentous milestone off the list over at New Courtland Saint Bartholomew’s “Saint Bart’s” Phase II project with their Topping Off Celebration. Batman, the drone, was thrilled to capture the crane onsite as the skies echoed with achievement when the final precast concrete plank was placed. MDSA Friends and Family Event in July was a great way to send off summer by building a legacy!

MDSA (McDonald Dale Strategic Alliance) was proud to host a special and extra sweet "Friends & Family" event on the last Thursday of July down at 3.0 University Place on the Green Roof Terrace. Those who worked on the project gathered with their families to visit the site for a tour and see the incredible work their loved ones put into this build over the last few years. Although the day was a summer scorcher, the shaded terrace provided the perfect, breezy spot to showcase the outdoor amenities 3.0 University Place provides. Guests and kids enjoyed some cotton candy, putt putt, giant jenga, and Lil Pop Shop popsicles to stay cool. Thank you to HELM Creative Studio and Lil Pop Shop for a joyous and memorable afternoon. We are proud to be part of this one-of-a-kind construction and proudly share all this building has to offer with the generations to come. The day was perfectly timed out too, as it just so happened to line up with receiving news 3.0 passed all site inspections! Thank you Revolution Recovery for hosting MBC’s SQP July Meeting!

This month, our SQP Education Committee arranged a staff field trip to Revolution Recovery in NE Philly for a site tour to get an up close look into their waste management & recycling sorting facility. Revolution Recovery receives 500-600 tons of scrap and waste each day at their primary hub in Philly and recently expanded their sorting facilities to Newark, DE and Allentown, PA. MBC has been partnering with Revolution Recovery or "RR" since 2010 and we are proud of our combined accomplishments of diverting significant percentages of construction waste from landfills to recycling centers, regardless of LEED or funding requirements. We also got to learn about RR's RAIR program (Recycled Artists in Residency) - a residency program that provides artists with a studio space to produce one-of-a-kind meaningful art with on-site access to recovered materials. We ended the morning with some delicious lunch from Sweet Lucy’s just down the street. Renovations to the existing infusion pharmacy at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia have kicked off and progress is looking tremendous. Demolition is near completion as we have our sights set on expanding the existing footprint of the 5,000+ square-foot infusion lab and upcoming pharmacy. Batman soars over 400 W. Elm jobsite to capture Cranetastic work!

Batman took to the skies to document the crane-tastic work at the 400 West Elm jobsite in Conshy. With careful safety precautions in place, the team was able to make the most of what was anticipated to be a two-day crane pick all in ONE DAY! Huge kudos and thanks to the trades and teams onsite to make this happen. It’s no small feat, but it was a successful operation installing 36 condensing units, 3 ERU’s, and 2 stair pressurization fans. All this talk about the weekend makes us think it’s about time for a Flyby Friday! Batman the Drone flew on over to Conshohocken to visit our 400 West Elm jobsite. Things may look a little different since you last saw the impressive 13-story luxury apartment complex – you’ll notice all the exterior wall panels are COMPLETE! Interior drywall finishes on the lower floors have officially started on the 348 units, making this beautiful build one step closer to completion this fall. Three stormwater basins in the back are complete, and we’re prepping for paving. Firestop systems are highly dependent on proper design and installation for success in the event of an actual fire. The importance of these sorts of trainings for all the trades cannot be understated to ensure that firestopping systems are installed correctly in the field. The lobby now boasts new curtain wall openings and fresh lounge tile while the cinema room is moving along with the Kvadrat acoustic panels installed. Novum Structures mobilized this week for the exterior glass canopy that will be a modern welcoming feature for guests as they arrive for check-in.
